Support & Education

Working together, we can receive the best available care and help find new treatments.

A Community Working to Fight Mitochondrial Disease

About 40,000 people in the United States are thought to have a mitochondrial disorder, and although these conditions are extremely rare, it is essential for this community to work together.

By sharing our knowledge and experience, we can help each other find the best care and resources available. And by participating in clinical trials and other research initiatives, we can identify treatments that address the underlying causes of mitochondrial diseases. In rare diseases especially, patient advocacy and participation in research are crucial to bringing about the kind of breakthrough we need.
